My system drive is in the last stages of crashing and I've
successfully reinstalled XP Pro many times on the new
replacement drive. However, no matter what I try, the
newly installed system will not fully recognize my data
drive (200gb Western Digital with a single partition of
200gb as a dynamic disk).
I am using the Promise Ultra 100TX-2 controller card (this
is the only drive attached to the card) and have installed
the XP drivers from WDC's website. When I import the
foreign disk (with an OK status), XP properly sees it as
186.1gb but it sees it as unallocated space and will not
recognize the volume that already exists on the drive. I
have been able to get the old system drive to boot once
more and it recognizes the drive and the volume and I can
access the data on the data drive so I know the volume
still exists. Everything I've found on MS's website leads
me to believe that all I have to do is simply "import the
foreign disk" but I'm obviously missing something. Any
help would be greatly appreciated!
