Force replication between two DCs in different sites

Mike Herchel

Hi, I am trying to force replication between two Windows 2000 Domain
Controllers at different sites (to replicate a user). When I select the
option to replicate now (under sites and services snap-in), following
directions in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q232072, it gives me
the message

"One or more of these active directory connections are between domain
controllers in different sites and cannot be replicated immediately. Active
Directory will replicate these connections at the next opportunity."

Is there anyway to force it to replicate now?

Thanks!

You'll always get this message, but it basically does it ASAP.

You can push, as opposed to the standard pull, using Replication Monitor in
the support tools. That also forces, but again, can take a minute or two
when crossing site boundaries...
