Folder Permissions - take ownership

M

Mark Drabble

I have just taken up post in my new job and have a problem
on a windows 2000 server.

I have a folder which I cannot delete or taker ownership -
even as administrator.

The folder permissions are that:
everyone is set to list contents
nt user s-1-5-21-(numbers) - Owner

If anyone one has a solution please help

Try logging on as a local administrator if you are logging on as a domain
administrator. I would also run Check Disk on the computer to check for file
corruption. Is the administrators group listed as a user/group to change ownership
to? See the KB link for more tips especially at the end of the article about using
subinacl to change ownership and permissions if necessary. You can also try using
xcalcs. --- Steve
