Hi to all,

I have a program that requires the files cscmd32.ocx and cstext32.ocx. After
I have installed Windows XP SP2, it stopped working and gave me errors in
these files.

I looked around on google and found that I need new versions of these files
to work under Windows XP SP2.

Does anyone of you have versions greater than or equal to 4.5 of these
files? Where can I download them? Or can you please email them to profluca @

Thank you for your help!

Other with the same issue, have fixed the problem by obtaining an updated and newer version of the application from the vendor who supplied
the product.

Windows file protection is set much stricter in XP Service Pack 2 to improve the operating system stability.

Check the website of the program that is failing for an updated version.

XP SP2 perfers signed drivers. Drivers which are not
signed have the potential to make a system unstable. The
following article pertains to Signed Drivers:

840257 You cannot install programs with unsigned drivers
in non-interactive
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=840257

Things to note in the article:
"To install a program in non-interactive mode, the driver
package must have a .cat file that is digitally signed by
Microsoft."

"Note In Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, the driver signing
policy level can be set to 'ignore' when you install
unsigned drivers. In Windows Server 2003, the default
setting for driver signing policy is 'warn.' The 'ignore'
policy setting is not available in Windows Server 2003."

Although the document pertains to Windows 2003, there are
many similarities to XP. Cheers.

Hello Darren,
Check the website of the program that is failing for an updated version.

I have checked it but there is no reference for this problem. It seems that
I only need updated versions of these two files. Can you please email them
to me? Or do you know a different place where I can download them? Then I
will manually register them.

Thank you,

Luc
