HI

I get the following error when I try to access a Excel file through
Excel2003 saved on a network drive. When I downgrade the Excel version I can
open the file without a problem.I am on Excel2003 SP(2).

Error : 'filename.xls' cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you
may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is
stored on may not be responding.

Please fix this issue fo me

Thankx

Thish

Hi,
I seems to experience the same problems too in excel 2007 when opening a
..xls file, the same thing happens in network drive (which is currently a
Novell Netware 6.5 volume).

The problem is commonly found when the file has a password protection enable.

This did not seems to be a problem in previous versions of excel.

When this happens, the file can no longer be save into xlsx format.
