My computer has recently started some really annoying behavior. When I open
the File Dialog Window the computer dialog box and app freezes for about 20
to 30 seconds and then works like normal again. If I try it again right away
I don't get the problem. But if I wait lets say 3 or 4 minutes the problem
occurs again.
A concrete example is on a web page where I click browse to open the Choose
File window to select a file I want to upload. Everytime I get the freeze.
Another symptom may be that on folders that I have .sql files in exhibet
this behavior also. For example, I may be drilling down in Windows Explorer
but as soon as I get to a folder with .sql files it temporarily freezes. I
have to wait 3 or so minutes to get the behavior to happen again.
I do not have any mapped network drives, I have removed all My Network
Places except http://localhost which is functional and responsive. I don't
generally get the problem opening via My Computer of Windows Explorer.
Any help would GREATLY be appreciated as not only is this annoying, but as a
developer this is causing me a lot of time during development and testing.
