*you dont have to do this by the way, i'm accepting no responsibility!

Ja ok, I will get me mate to do this for me. It just went right over the top of my head. And after getting banned from TalkTalk forum, I wouldn't be able to ask for help there

I could well end up chucking modem and router/hub out the window and going to a different ISP
We have already established with TT there is no line fault, and BTOR engineer has confirmed 35mbps at the master socket. So it just leaves 2 things, the BTOR modem or the TalkTalk router/hub.

So why am I still getting this ?

Well i may as well continue in this thread as its about Fibre BB. :)

I signed up to be part of the 80/20 trial with my ISP on Monday, should go live in the next day or two...

Need to unlock my new modem (3B replacement this Saturday just gone) to see the stats.

Didn't want to let go of the old one, its been faultless for the last 10 months.... :/

This is what i get at the mo...

Ok I am ever so slightly confused now. I first off ran Ccleaner to clear out all browsers etc. Than ran speedtest.net on IE8, Firefox 10.0.2, Google Chrome and Opera and came up with quite different results.

First IE 8

Firefox 10.0.2

Google Chrome

Opera

Ooops! Should add BT Openreach Engineer swapped over the modem for a new one and tested speed at master socket and it was reading a solid 35mbps

Hmm, that could be just that Speedtest.net is busy?

One thing i've noticed on the 80/20 trial, is that 9 times out of 10 the site cant keep up! :D

Downloading i always max out at 8.9Mb/s but speedtest often struggles to get above 50-60.

Also, i unlocked my new modem this weekend, here are the stats.......

As you can see the max attainable on my line is 90/32. Not bad!

Thought I would post an update. And its a pretty good one. Spoke with those at TalkTalk about 2 weeks ago. Let matey take over my machine remotely so he could access router from user side as well as their side, he also took control of BT Openreach box and played about.

Below is the speed I have had for goingon 2 weeks now. Been pretty consistant, no drops during peak time etc . So now I am well happy. Why they couldn't have done this in the start Idon't know

Well, tbh i'm not sure! The 80/20 service is now live for BT customers (Free upgrade at no extra cost) but no mention of it on the ADSL24 website, its still 40/10...

I wish I was living where they have done the new developments in the East of London. All new builds are FTTP. Not sure of the speeds, but in Newham they are trialing 1gigabit broadband as I post in another post or maybe this one, lol or even maybe the PM I sent you. The mind is fuzzy

My FTTC has just been upgraded to 80/20

I did the upgrade with TalkTalk yesterday and they reckon it should take 5 days for line to settle etc. This was my speed test earlier

As per last post my broadband has been upgraded. TalkTalk also said they had to send me a new router out which arrived today nice and early. So I sat down to hook it all up. Switched everything on, and what do you know. TalkTalk have sent me a duff router. Seems they are pretty good at doing this with me. Endless frustrating calls to their support and eventually after I think the 5th call and much un printable language they agreed to send me a new one. Lets hope this one works when it arrives
