Faxing within Outlook 2002

[Sofsurfaces]

In Outlook 2000, you could open an new email message,
pick a fax contact in the "To" box and send as an
ordinary email message. This would send a fax thru our
server running SBS. Now we have Outlook 2002 and I can
not figure out how to do this. I have installed
Microsoft Shared Fax on my workstation and also Fax Mail
Transport but am having problems. First of all the email
sits in the Outbox for quite some time (a couple of
minutes). While still sitting in the Outbox, Microsoft
Photo Editor opens only on the task bar for some reason.
To close it I have to right click and close. I then get
the error message that it won't close on it's own. All
regular email that I send both internally and externally
now sits in the Outbox for a minute or so. When the fax
finally gets sent, it bounces back to me with the
following error: "Your message did not reach some or all
of the intended recipients.
Subject: testing our fax
Sent: 9/30/2003 11:36 AM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'Jim Wilson (Business Fax)' on 9/30/2003 11:39 AM
The Microsoft Fax transport failed to deliver
the message to the recipient.
Not all attachments can be rendered."
Have I missed doing part of the install?

I finally got this to work. I was using stationary for
my email messages. When I deleted the stationary, my
faxes went thru. I did notice on another workstation
that fax mail transport was not available but I am sure
it has to do with installing the shared fax on this
particular workstation. Thanks.

I have the same issue, but How can I find the
Transport "Service" in Outlook 2002, I have no problem
with Station which still running Outlook 2000, but none
of my Outlook 2002 (Come with their Office pacakge)
works.

You didn't specify what Fax Service you are using. If you have one installed
correctly the Fax Mail Transport will be available in Tools > E-mail
Accounts... > Add a new E-mail Account > Additional Server types...

Thanks a lot.

I have checked the account, and found nothing there,
maybe something wrong with the fax service I installed,
but my user can use "print" to the fax machine to reach
the fax modem on the server, I also request the server to
install the fax clients as well, but the error occures
when user try to isntall the program while restart their
machine. it says the windows XP already come with the fax
clients and no additional fax clients is needed. Where
went wrong? I really have no clue, is there anyway I can
install and add the Fax Transport service in Outlook?
just like what I did in Outlook 2000. Thanks in

You really do need to come clean with the Fax Service you are using. I can't
help without that.
