F-prot DOS run in Windows DOS BOX or real mode MS-DOS

Running Win98. For years I always restarted in MS-DOS to run the DOS
version of F-prot. Recently, I tried it in a DOS Prompt box. It took
just about half the time as in real mode DOS. Are there any problems
using it in a Win DOS Prompt, other than it doesn't check the swap file?

Only that you're scanning "informally". Remember that a "feature" of
much modern malware is the disabling of scanners and their updating
while in Windows. When malware infestation is suspected, at least scan
in Safe mode. A "formal" scan is done in DOS after booting directly
into DOS.

Thanks, I'll go back to running it in real DOS.
