extract pictures from screensavers

I'm looking for a program that can extract pictures from screensavers or
.scr extentions
so that they can be saved as jpg for future use.
Anyone know if such a program exists.

Thank you for your time

Why don't people contact the authors and ask for copies? Most times we
don't have a problem passing out a couple pics. I never turned down anyone
who asked. Recently I gave out a folder full of soundbites that I've used
for savers. Most times it's easier to just ask the authors than to rip
copyright material.
*hang on a sec...donning asbestos suit* Ok...burn me an plonk me.

Ceg, I noticed your thread before. Some of the titles sounded good to me
but they were all install exe files. Can you list some as just *.scr
files if requested? And what would be the link again?

TIA

Depending on what compression tools you use, you may be able to open the
*.EXE files in a zip type archiving program to extract the individual files.
I don't pack spywares or any of that other crap. The creation tools I
generally use are HS Screensaver Creator Pro and the Screensaver Builder Pro
from MG Shareware.

If there are a few in specific that you want I could try to see about
getting the *.SCR files to you. I've changed my setup a bit. The links on
my page now pop up an email form on your screen where you can send your
request for screensavers. They will now be posted to
alt.binaries.screen-savers along with the unlocking key unless you specify
in your email request to return them as email attachments.

Some people here probably don't classify them as freeware savers...I've
taken the slideshow savers off shareware status and am now giving them with
the unlocking key. The link to the site is http://savers.sytes.net .

Just a quick note on those who prefer screensavers as *.SCR files. Are you
looking at the file before opening them? Are you sure they're not some
diaboloical script?<g>

It's a little involved. You have categories that are interesting to me,
but I would like to look at them before downloading (33K modem).
Categories are:
Tall ships,
Seascapes
Forest
Sunsets
Fish
Autumn

Do you have a web page that they are images to be viewed?

TIA

I'll dig through my archives. At one time I had animated
thumbnails...another I had full page spread thumbnails.

This is part of an older site I had running at one time. Note that the only
valid links are the VIEW links on the demo pages. DOWNLOAD and REGISTER
links are no longer valid. This will give you an idea of what's in some of
the savers along with any soundbite (sound effects/music) which may be
compiled with that particular saver.

Thanks, Ceg. I saved some of the images to use.

Do you need full-size images?

Actually, yes. I am using these images in jigsaw puzzle programs and
that would help. Those are some very nice images.

If possible, there are 3 screensaver categories I didn't see in
thumbnails: autumn, forest scenes and roses.

If you'll send me a reminder at (e-mail address removed) with the categories,
I'll see about digging out the CD's and packing up folders full of pics or
I'll try to put them into some type of online catalog where you can view
them.
