Extra Line breaks hidden in Notepad

I am using FrontPage to edit TXT files for a web page and
every now and then, when I save the file, I get
extra "hidden" line returns in the file. It views and
prints correctly on Windows XP, but on Windows NT, I get
1-3 blocks after each line.

I need to find out what is causing these extra characters
and eliminate them from being created in the files.

Any suggestions?

Would editing the TXT files outside of FrontPage or an
earlier version cause the problem?

.
You do not state whether you are using two computers or
have two OS's (operating systems) on one PC.

Not sure I'm understanding the problem correctly.

In general, when you open a file in Notepad and disable Word Wrap (under
View in the menu), any remaining line breaks would be "hard breaks." I
believe these are the ones that you are wanting to remove.

If you are getting extra line breaks when using Notepad as an editor
from within Front Page, I would have to guess this is Front Page adding
these. May want to ask in the Front Page newsgroups if they have noticed
this behavior too. Suggestion: Open Notepad in a separate window and
keep it handy for proofing text as you work.
