External Firewire Hard Drive

When I connect my external hard drive through fire wire
(port on my Audigy 2 sound card), Windows recognizes it.
However, when I try to move large amounts of data, it
quickly stops working and reports a Code 43 problem. It
says this in Device Manager. When I connect using USB
1.1, it works fine. Please help, I could not find any
information pertaining to my problem.

Hi,

Do not use the firewire port on the audigy card for data storage device. It is designed for connecting with other PC for playing games.
I would suggest you to buy another firewire card or USB 2.0 card for the external storgae device.

Thank you Peter, I think I'll just return the drive until I can decide what action to take.
