excessive hard disc activity

My C drive is increasingly active, even when I have no applications
running. I have a firewall and have scanned for viruses. I downloaded
a disc monitor called Activity Indicator and the log it produces shows
that this is what seems to be happening:

Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zell0398.default\cookies.txt.moztmp
Rename: C:\Documents and Settings\xpuser\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zell0398.default\cookies.txt
Change: C:\Documents and Settings\xpuser\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zell0398.default
Change: C:\Documents and Settings\xpuser\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zell0398.default\cookies.txt
Delete: C:\Documents and Settings\xpuser\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zell0398.default\cookies.txt.moztmp
Change: C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\IAMDB.RDB
Change: C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\default.LOG
Change: C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\IAMDB.RDB
Change: C:\Program Files\Philips\Philips Lime
Service\library\ImageData.out

Any suggestions about what's going on? I'd be very grateful for any
help with this.

Can't deduce alot from that.

'Filemon' may be a better application to view what's going on in real time

Normal disk activity, Firefox updated a cookie.

and whatever Philips Lime Service is starting to update.

But yes try Filemon - and use the filters, as your firewall and virus
programs will overwhelm your output.

Many thanks Penny and Jon - will give filemon a try.

Might be worth a visit to the Zone Alarm site and check
for an update. There have been a few reports of users
having a corrupted IAMDB.RDB. They complained of
constants reporting.

Anything in Event Viewer?

Hope this helps.
