Excel deletes files saved on network HDD

We have Win 2000 File Server and on notebooks with OSB 2007 we experienced
the problem with Excel.
Trying to save file in network directory on Win 2000 server we noticed that
is not possible - Error. However saving file directly on HDD of particular
notebook do not case any problem.

But the main problem is other operation described below in steps:
1. Opening file saved on network on Win 2000 Serv.
2. making changes
3. Saving changed file
- it is not possible to save the file - error
- if â€Cancel" command is chosen file is deleted from network directory
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please help

My workgroup is having the same problem. We are using Excel with Sharing
enabled, and get an error message "Unable to save file" with the option of
using Save As to save the file to another location, and the file disappears
from the server. If the user leaves the file open and uses Save As to save
to a local drive, we can then copy the file back to the server.
