EXCEL:Can't open any file without error saying it's ALREADY open???

It's a gigantic alert box when you opened an existing XLS file telling
you the file is ALREADY open and asks for ok, cancel etc.

OFFICE 1997 is the version.

Are you double clicking something to op
en file. If so try single click.
