Hi

I've have following server:
- Windows 2000 server with sp4
- IBM MQ Servies server
- Oracle 9i server

After i finished setting server up i noticed that Application log did
not show events. At some point of the installation it was still
working, but today i found out that it had stopped to work. It still
shows 1771 events as total amount of entries, but no text is shown. I
can even click to the grid and set focus on some line in the event log
and it looks if there still exists some events. I'm logged on as a
local administrator so i should have enough priviledges to access
event log. I can also see system and security logs normally.

I've seen similar reports in some newsgroup but i could not find them
anymore. Any ideas what is wrong in the server?

Found this problem on two other machines too. Also found out that
there's workaround for this problem: After clearing all events from
all three sections of eventlog helps.

I'm having the same issue post W2K SP4. Only with
application log, not others. This issue on my Exchange
2000 server. I applied SP4 to other W2K fileservers and
the app log is fine.

I will keep searching newsgroups. Please let me know if
you find a resolution.

Thanks
