EventID 1807 - Security Center has been stopped

V

Valerie Hough

The following event started appearing after SP2. The link provided by MS
produces nothing. Is this a problem?

The computer logs this event if I log on to the domain or as local machine.

The computer has Pc-Cillin running as virus s/w.

Thanks,
Valerie Hough

Hi,

The Event ID 1807 with error message "The Security Center service has been
stopped. It was revented from running by a software group policy." would
occur If your computer is member of a domain, the Security Center is
disabled by default, and you will see this entry in the Application event
log.

For any windows XP domain computer which is updated with SP2, this is
normal and by design, the Security Center is default turned off. There is a
Group Policy setting available if you want to turn it on. It is possible to
turn on I am attaching a link given below which explains more about this
feature in Windows XP SP2.

Please let me know if this information helps!

Thank You,
