Hello,

I'm getting the following error in many of my Windows XP box

Source: crypt32
Event ID: 8
Type Error

Failed auto update retrieval of third-party root list sequence number from:
<http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootseq.txt> with error: 0x197

I suspect this have everything to do with our group policy blocking the
Windows update site as well as our firewall blocking with with it's access
list.

To update the boxes we are using WSUS. In another post someone suggested
just turing off these notifications, however, it seems fairly important to be
to make sure our machines have the appropriate cert installed. Is there any
way around getting these errors other than opening the firewall and/or
relaxing the GPO?

Thanks in advance.
