Event ID 1081 Userenv

Windows cannot impersonate the user. (The handle is invalid. ). Group Policy
processing aborted.
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Source: Uerenv
Error occurs every 100 to 110 minutes.

With fast user switching turned on, if I log out or lock the computer with
Window+L, I cannot log into any account, the only way I can get back in is to
restart the computer.
The only possible explanation I have is that either WinPooch is trying to do
something without permission or another networked Win2000Pro computer is
asking forpermissions it does't have. Neither of these seem likely as it is
not related to network traffic. after a full system scan by AVG, Kasperky,
Norton, AdAware, Windows Defender, a-squared and Spybot, the system comes up
clean.
The first Userenv error (Event ID 1517) began on 4Jun06 as a warning, then
the error (Event ID 1081) began 10Aug06.
I am shutting down WinPooch for now to see if that is the cause but would
appreciate assistance with other possiblities.

If you see a lot of Userenv/1517, Userenv/1524 or Userenv/1500 errors in the
Event Viewer, download and install the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service.

If you experience slow logoff (with Saving your settings for most of the
time while logging off), you are having profile unload problems.

This decreased my shutdown time a bunch. Takes any where from 10 to 20
seconds to shutdown.

C:\Program Files\UPHClean\uphclean.exe is added.

The User Profile Hive Cleanup service gets added to Services and
uphclean.exe will run all the time. I am one that doesn't like to have any
extra services running, but I am sold on UPHClean.

Download details: User Profile Hive Cleanup Service
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6d-8912-4e18-b570-42470e2f3582&displaylang=en

UPHClean v1.6d readme.txt
http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/8/7/a87b3d05-cd04-4743-a23b-b16645e075ac/readme.txt

To automatically install it (you need uphclean-setup.msi):
- Double click the setup.msi

The service is set to automatically start when the computer boots so you
will
not need to start it manually.

I've gotten used to Userenv 1517 after every shutdown. However, like you, I
am loathe to have any additional services running. I imagine that the
"culprit" is my AV program (CA EzAntivirus), but it would be nice to know
what is causing the event errors.
Despite the "events," my shutdown time is still very fast, so I really can't
complain.

No, the only one showing up now and it only affects logging in with Fast
Switching enabled is Event ID 1081. I have not seen Event ID 1517 for close
to a month now. Even with the fast switching disabled it shows up.
I have fast user switching disabled as well as the Welcome screen login, I
am using the old NT style login which works fine. I am leaving WinPooch
disabled through the night to see if that is the cause.

Nope, not much help... I did a google search already and there are 2 other
predominant errors showing under Event ID 1081:
Source: MSExchangeIS
or
Unable to recover the database because error 0xc80001fe occurred after a
restore operation

Not related to my error.

I knew that and now you know.

I'm getting this error also. It only seems to happen when I'm at the
welcome screen and logged in. Sometimes windows "locks" me out by
refusing my password and the only remedy is to reboot. Is there a
definitive cause/fix for this error?

Yeah... a bunch of dead-ends in terms of solutions. That's why I was
hoping someone in here would know :)
