Error using USMT in XP (cannot create data needed to save settings)

I am trying to re-load my settings on a newly reinstalled WindowsXP hard
drive. I have my saved USMT (or "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard") data
on a separate hard drive but every time I try to use the data, I receive the
following error from the wizard immediately after selecting the location of
the data and hitting 'next':

"An error occurred while the wizard was loading your data.
The wizard cannot create the data needed to save your settings. Make sure
you have enough disk space available.
To close this wizard, click Finish."

Any suggestions on how to get the saved data back? I have SEVERAL gigs free
on the XP hard drive and the saved data is about 180mb... I assume that
there's more than enough free space to unpack it. I'd really rather not
have to put all of my Outlook contacts back in and would especially like
some of my archived email messages stored in the backed up data. Is there a
way to manually access this info or is there a 3rd party utility to recover
the bad data?

Thanks,
Dan Dautrich

Just wanted to add that I've tried checking the Microsoft.com site but only
found info to check the Fastwiz.log file for errors... here's what it says
verbatim:

"Module Error An error occurred while loading data. Can't continue.
[ERROR=13 (Dh)]"

Still doesn't help me. Anyone else?
