Error msg ' no default mail client' ... even though Outlook is set as default

I have 7 PCs connected to SBS2003 server, all with Outlook 2003 ... Outlook
2003 on 5 of these work properly, on 2 other it does not ... Outlook itself
seems to work, but the address book does not work the same as the other 5.
If the destination address is typed in, the message will work ... on the
other 5 only the first few letters need to be typed in and the remainder
automatically fills in.

I must be missing something in the configuratiion ... any clues about where
to look would be appreciated.

The following message occurs with every login:

Title Bar :
Microsoft Office Outlook

Message:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as
the default mail client.

Environment:
SBS 2003 Server, with MS Office 2003 Professional edition on Win XP Pro PC.

This message started occuring shortly after the PC was 'connected' to the
SBS 2003 Domain using the 'ConnectComputer' wizard.

Other related symptoms:
Remote assistance, Address book fails, produces a similar message to the
logon error message.

Outlook is set as the default client within Outlook tools > options > other
.... the 'make default' is check on.
In Control Panel > Mail ... the only profile available is called
'SBSOutlook'
In 'Set Program Access and defaults' the 'use my current e-mail program' is
selected ... Outlook is not an option, Outlook Express is.

On the machine where this doesn't work, enable autocompletion. Click
Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options and check the box that
reads "Suggest names while completeing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" near the
bottom.

Hi Brian! Thanks for the suggestion, I will do this on both of the
'problem' machines tonight. I don't want to interfere with the users normal
operation of their PCs during their workday.

I suspect there is something more than this wrong though ... I don't think
this setting would cause the error message 'no default mail ... '
