error messages after updating Windows 2000

I recently downloaded and installed all the available
updates for our Windows 2000 system. Now upon booting up,
we always get error messages about:

hpobnz08.exe
hposo108.exe

generating errors and being shut down.

I can't find anything in the knowledge base about these.
Any ideas?

Perhaps starting up in Safe mode and uninstalling the HP printer and
then reinstalling will clear the problem.

What those files do. (Background task loaded by the drivers for the HP
PSC 2100 & 2200 series of multifunction printers)
