ERROR: could not locate INF file wmp.inf

I am running TS 2000 on a 2000 server. I have about 20 users using TS. In
the TS environment I map the users home drive so they can get to their data.
Well one day some user tries to run a media file and starts (I think) an
installation of media player. Since the server has never been upgraded with
the most recent media player it still has the default 6.4 play installed.
Now when everyone logs into TS they are getting an error message that says
"ERROR: Could not locate INF file C:\Windows\INF\wmp,inf" Once they click OK
the error message does not show up for the rest of the day no matter how many
times they log back in. I searched for this file and it is not on the
server. How can I get this error message to stop popping up? Do I need to
actually install media player even though the server does not have a sound
card? Do I uninstall media player?

Sounds like an aborted installation. Is probably stored somewhere
in the registry, maybe in the Run or RunOnce key.

If you can't find it with a manual search of the registry, you
could run regMon (as Administrator) when a normal user logs on.
RegMon will show you all regsitry keys which are accessed by the
user.
