Every time I attempt to update the definition files and engine I get the
error 0x80072f8f. Any Idea how to get around this?

Hi, Fred;

From the many other posts here, it appears that the fix is to open a CMD
window, then correct the date and time for the system. At the C:\ prompt
just enter "date" and then "time" and enter the correct information (I'd
suggest you enter the info even if it appears correct).

Note that I haven't seen this issue, so am just reporting what others here
have given as a likely fix.

Hello Fred,

I was the first to face that problem, and Sky is right how I solution that
problem.
Let me add to Sky solution, after the change of time and date. Go to Windows
Update and check for any critical available updates?

I hope this post is helpful, let us know how it works ºut.
