Error 1304 installing MS AntiSpyware

When trying to install MS AntiSpyWare, I get "Error
1304.Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Microsoft
AntiSpyware\gcasServ.exe. Verify that you have access to
that directory."

Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Are you installing as an administrator on your machine?

What happens if you install to a non-standard directory--try c:\msas for
example?

Thanks for your suggestions. I just found out what the
problem was - I was running an IDS program called PREVX
which seems to be incompatible with MSAS.

Thanks for reminding me--that is one that I'd heard before, but without
mention of the specific error message. The help for Microsoft Antispyware
does suggest turning such things off before installing, but relatively few
of us manage to read the help before (or even after!) installing the
product.
