Epson C82 not printing red

I have an Epson C82 printer. When I do the nozzle check the red barely
prints at all. ANything that I try to print that has red in it turns out a
yellow color. I have run the head cleaning utility a hundred times with no
improvements. The ink levels say they are all at 75%. I was wondering if
this is something I can fix by replacing the red ink cartridge, or if the
printer is screwed up. The black, blue and yellow all print fine.

I reinstalled the drivers too.

Any suggestions ?

Check thoroughly that the cartridge is pressed down. They do ease up
sometimes. Then try the age old cure. A few drops of Windolene (USA Windex)
dripped onto the docking sponge and a further one or two on the inlet for
the cartridges often loosens encrusted debri. The ammonia content acts as a
solvent for stubborn blocks.
Some more tips are here www.inkylink.co.uk under Epson quirks.

Thanks for the info. What exactly is the docking sponge ?
Do I have to take apart the printer to get to it ?

Nope,
It is actually the seal are where the heads dock when you turn off. If you
can set it to replace cartridges and the C82 flicks the heads centrally
(can't remember) or do the dirty and set it off and whip out the plug
midstride.
You can achieve this also by dribbling some Windolene down at the base of
the cartridges. Let it then sit overnight. I've only got a C80 available
here at the moment so I hope it is the same.
When all fails fill an old cartridge with a Windy mix and print a few pages.
You may have to be knowledgeable with a resetter for this.
bit of a PITA ain't it - but they are excellent printers.
