Eliminate Detail Band, Group Band holds running totals

I am totaling detail records in a report in a group band and do not want
to display the detail band. I have collapsed the necessary detail text
boxes on which the sums are calculated as far as I can "push" them and
the detail band, similarly, to a very fine line; however, that little
bit of space just keeps adding up as I have more and more records. What
is the way to eliminate completely any detail band space?

You don't need controls in the detail section in order to aggregate on the
fields in a group footer or header. Just delete everything from the detail
section entirely and then set its Height to zero.

Thank you, thank you. I have been working with Access and VBA for
possibly 10 years (retired now and although never my trade, though I was
pretty good) - but right now I am feeling pretty dumb. Had a fixation
that the text boxes were necessary in order to reference with a
function.
