dvd drive recognized as cd drive

Hey everybody i dont know if anyof you can help me or not
but i would really apreciate it. i am curantly dealing
with a problem with my dvd drive my computer recognizes
it as a regular cd rom drive instead of what it actualy
is, a dvd drive. I have tryed unistalling the device and
then reinstalling it. if anyone has any sujestions, they
would be most apreciated.
