DVD Disappearance

Windows fails to detect my DVD-Rom drive, it's just not there! According to
my Bios it is present and it appears to be receiving power. I've tried to
detect it and re-install with the add new hardware but to no avail.
Roll backs do not work either. I do have two other CD drives which function
as normal.
Can anyone help?
