i got a new computer and when i first turned it on there were no shortcuts for my dvd-rw or dvd-rom on the desktop. so i went to my computer right clicked on the icons and clicked create shortcut for both and the shortcuts appeared but now when i double click them it says that the path is no longer valid. i think there is a fix but im not sure or where to get it

Right click on your desktop and "Create Shortcut", using the path as "d:\" if that is your CD-Rom Drive... it should work :) You might get that error if there is no disc in the drive though.
