Drag-&-Drop Push-Button onto a Spreadsheet Cell

Hello:


How can I automate an Excel application whereby I can drag a user defined push-button over a cell and the content of the cell will be modified by the functionality I have defined for the push-button?

My design is to define a push-button to read in the data measured by an automated measurement instrument. I want to be able to drag the push-button over any of the data cells in the spreadsheet and the data will be read from the measurement instrument and populate the cell the push-button is over when I drop the push-button.

I am aware of the ability to drag-and-drop the content of one cell to another but am unaware of the capability of dragging a push-button over a cell.

I am open to changing my design if any one knows of a better method of coying the data associated with a push-button to a user selected cell.
