normally when i was using my computer before, when i
click on a download link. the a window pop up asking me
if i want to "save" the file or "open" it, or" cancel"

but all the sudden, whenever i click on a download link .
windows will just open the file without asking if i want
to save the file or not.

does anyone what i can do ? because in some case i can
not right click the mouse to use "save the target as". so
i need the windows to ask me what to do.

You lost the file type association.
How I do not know.

You set this for each file type, e.g. for .zip
Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types
Find the .zip association (may be WinZip File)
Edit, (or click Advanced on ME or XP) and check the "Confirm open
after download" box

The path to Folder Options may vary according to your operating
system. It may be:
Explorer-View-Folder Options
Explorer-Tools-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Folder options.

Go to My Computer... Tools... Folder Options... File Types. Find the file
type that isn't giving you the option anymore in the list, select it, and
click on Advanced. Look at the status of the "Confirm open after download"
checkbox. Toggle it to the other setting (ie. if it's checked, uncheck
it... if it's unchecked, check it), OK your way out, and try it again (close
any open browser windows then re-open them first).
