Double Clicking Will Not Execute/Install Programs?

Good Morning,
Until yesterday, I was able to download and execute the installation of
programs by saving them and double clicking the file. All of a sudden, they
now just open in Notepad for viewing. I now have four from the Doug Knox
site which I cannot execute. The system or me changed something. What do I
need to do to fix this?

You've set notepad to open up .exe files. Change your file associations
back so notepad
only opens up .txt files.

Doug I think answered you earlier. As an immediate method, right click
on the file, and take Open (you probably have the default, in bold, set
as Edit)
