DOS File Handles

I am attempting to run an older DOS program which
requires FILES=99 or better. I have been able to include
the command PerVMFiles=150 under the EN386 in Windoes ME
and Win 2K, but have not been able to find where and what
works with Windows XP.

I'm doing something wrong, but I'am not sure what.

Wrong place in XP. Edit the file
windows\system32\config.nt
with notepad, and change the value against files= at the bottom
