Does anyone know how I can remove the account info so that Outlook2000 will
'start afresh'?

I've just installed Outlook 2000 on my XP machine.
When I created my account I chose to connect to an Exchange server as well
as get internet mail.
I also chose the 'mobile' option so that I could work off line from the
Exchange server.

The Exchange server does not exist and there isn't one available - I've
explained the reasons for that later (if you're interested!)...

Of course I realised that I wouldn't be able to connect to the Exchange
server but I assumed that the internet mail side would be OK - I am
connected to that.

I find that I have created a Catch22 situation.

Outlook will not launch without connecting to the Exchange server - it won't
let me work off-line until I've connected to the server at least once!

The only thing it will offer me is file system browsing and in that
configuration Options in the tools menu is not available - I can't
re-configure the account I've set up or create a new one!

I've tried to find the configuration files for the account and delete them
(I've uninstalled Outlook then re-installed but it finds the previous
account info) but with no success. I've removed anything that looks a
likely candidate within the Documents and settings hierarchy but the
settings must be some where else.

So, that's why I'm asking the question: how can I remove the account info so
that Outlook will 'start afresh'?

Why:
I am planning to upgrade another PC from NT Workstation to Windows2000
Server which I will install Exchange server on.
I can't go ahead and do that until I've set up Outlook on the XP machine so
that I can continue to receive mail.
I've first got to ship of some data from the NT machine and re-partion the
disk, then install the server, then Exchange. There's so much that can cause
problems in all that and I can't risk being off-line for an extended period.

If you go to Control Panel | Mail, you can create a new, clean profile.
