I doubt anyone who posts on this group is important enough to have to worry

Bush the Terrorist, maybe, but not you and me :)

Hey Alias

I notice you didn't say "Google doesn't" archive mail. Maybe that is some
CIA thingy, it is certainly possible. I don't want anybody know I about my
viagra orders or my penis enlargment tablets. Its private

Trust me, not very many people care about your lack of sexual drive or the
fact that your penis is small. I guarantee it.

I read that a long time ago. If you don't want GMail, well, don't get it. I
only use it for newsgroups so if Google wants to read the spam I get, may
they have fun. Notably, though, since I started using it on Usenet, I have
only gotten three spam emails in over two months. For my personal and
business emails, I use my domain.

my point is Yes we are not "important" enought for google to read our mail
but the fact is they do save all of your emails...private or not....in a
giant database and after a certain period of time your rights of privacy on
those expire. Just think people should be aware when big brother is watching

It would be interesting to find out what would happen if you used GMail to
have a conversation with someone, say, planning a terrorist attack. I wonder
if the FBI would be at your door the next day?

Course, had the Americans not voted in George WMD Bush the Terrorist,
perhaps Google couldn't get away with this shit. Wait until the Patriot Act
II comes to a theater near you if you're worried about Big Brother.

agreed Alias. I have a Gmail account but dont really use it. I am not
personally worried about Gmail I just think if someone is going to use it
they should know what they are in for...the more information the better. BTW
is there a way to get Outlook express to grab your Gmail just like it can
with Hotmail?

Yes, but it's complicated:

You can import address books from Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo!, orkut, and other services to your Gmail account. Importing your contacts isn’t tricky, but it does take a few steps.
First, you’ll need to format your contacts as a CSV file-- either export your contacts from your other account or create a new CSV file. Next, you may need to edit the file to make it compatible with Gmail. Once your contacts are formatted correctly, you can import the file and transfer your contacts to your Gmail account.

What would you like to do?
