Distorted jpeg and gif images in explorer

Enrico

I just purchased a new Dell laptop with an ATI Mobility
Radeon 32MB video card. It seems that .jpeg and .gif
images appear distorted or unclear when viewing them in
Inernet Explorer 6.0. However, the pictures are
displayed flawlessly when I save and open them in another
graphics application such as the Windows picture viewer.
IE6 does not have any problem displaying regular text and
flash animations. If anyone has any ideas on how to
correct my problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
eb.

MSHTML.DLL hosts the rendering but I think IMGUTIL.DLL does a lot of the
work too.

Try setting your systems to different resolutions and see what happens.

Are all images this way? Or, only certain web pages or certain image types
(like how does a PNG or BMP show up?)?

Win2K or WinXP? I would thj ink a new Dell would ship with Win2K. You may
want to check the Dell support site or even call their support. They would
have a better understanding of the hardware invovled, if that's the issue
there.
