Displaying lyrics over motion loop

I'm trying to run a motion loop over several slides with lyrics but as soon
as the movie begins to play is covers the text box that I have the lyrics in.
I'm using PowerPoint 2003 and an .mpg movie file. I've tried sending the
movie to the back but it hasn't changed anything.

powerpoint always plays media on top of your powerpoint content.

I believe this is because powerpoint does not really play the video - it
gets a media player to display the clip.

There are some workarounds.... see

Actually, that statement is false. From your Powerpoint main screen, click on
"view", then "toolbars", and then "control toolbox." It takes some time, and
a bit of a learning curve, but you can create text that will go on top of
animations, movie clips, etc. I am still trying to figure out how to have it
without any color in the background.

You can also download a plugin that can help you. It's kind of expensive,
and this is just one of the websites that offers it:
