I am trying (and used to be able to) set my desktop at
1280x1024. Recently, my children loaded Hunting Unlimited
by ValuSoft on my laptop (Dell Latitude). This is the
only change made to the system when the problem started.
I believe there is a setting with the game that has caused
this. I've uninstalled the game but the problem still
remains. Now, when I boot up and everything loads, my
desktop does not show full screen. Also, another bit of
info to help; when I go into my display settings it reads
that it IS set at 1280x1024, but it's not. I can get it
to show properly by selecting another size, hitting apply,
and then saying "no" to keep the original setting. It
then defaults back to the 1280x1024 setting and DOES show
correctly on the monitor. But, when I shut it down, it
resets again. Also, when it boots, it does show the
1280x1024 screen, but as a "screen shot" (all the icons
reflect a 1280x1024 setting but there is a 1" black box
all the way around the screen. IT also does not keep my
desktop icons where I leave them before shutting down,
even though "auto arrange" is not checked. Does this make
sense?? Help!
