I'm trying to install a copy of Windows 2000 on a clean
hd. I've created the 4 disk Win2k boot series and when
booting from the first floppy, I get the error above.
Any help is appreciated.

Recreate the floppies if you must use them. To do a clean install, either
boot the Windows 2000 install CD-Rom or setup disks. The set of four install
disks can be created from your Windows 2000 CD-Rom; change to the \bootdisk
directory on the CD-Rom and execute makeboot.exe (from dos) or makebt32.exe
(from 32 bit) and follow the prompts.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.

I am experiencing the IDENTICAL problem on a system in
which I am installing a new HD. The message surfaces
shortly after the startup of BootDisk_1. Botting from the
CD-Rom hangs as Setup begins load routines. The response
to the original message seems totally non-applicable if
loading the boot disk fails. Illuminate me further, please.

1.) The floppies must be bad.

2.) "Botting from the CD-Rom hangs as Setup begins load routines" tells us
nothing.
