Disc Defragmenter gone since install of Auslogic Defragmenter

I wanted to try the free Auslogic defragmenter so I installed it. Now
after removing it my original XP one won't run.

It returns an error that says 'MMC could not create the snap in" "The
snap-in may have not been installed correctly."

Then there is a long CLSID number.

How do I get back the original defragmenter? Or is the Auslogics one
just as good? It sure is faster if nothing else.

What does Auslogics have to say about this?

If the suggestions by SC Tom can't resolve the problem try downloading
and reinstalling the Microsoft Management Console (MMC):

Hi John,

You can't get any replies from Auslogics when it comes to tech
support. The product is free and they apparently don't feel the need
or have the time to answer questions. I have tried on more than one
occasion to illicit a response from them but no joy, they remain
silent.

This is one more reason why I can't recommend the product to anyone.

I haven't tried anyones solution yet but I will do as time permits
thank you very much, both of you.

Cheers,

J T

Hi SC Tom,

I used the methods that your pages indicated and I got my Windows
defrag working again!

I didn't have to re-install the MMC however, but I did use all the
methods on your page to get it back again.

Cheers and many thanks,

J Tinsby

YW! Glad it's working for you again.
