Windows XP Digital Signature

Hello there;

Iam trying to reinstall my Packard Bell Diamond Plus1200 Scanner software, not top of the range I know but it works [or it used to!!!], however now when I plug in the usb cable & run the install wizrd I get a message telling me that the digital signature for windows xp is not valid and installation could damage my system, this was a scanner which came complete with my pc etc [Packard Bell i media] and worked until recently.
Is it safe to carry on or is there a fix that I need to do. Help!!!!!!!!

yes it is entirely safe it just says that because windows dont have thier logo on the box
