Desktop Icons re-arranged after fast user switch?

Whenever I switch from one user to another, when I switch back to the
first user, icons that were close to the screen borders have been re-
arranged (exactly as would happen if I had changed the screen size to
something smaller and then changed back). But, my logon screen and the
desktop of the switched-to user are all the same resolution. Any fixes
for this? I tried WinTidy 2 but it does not help.

Turn off 'auto arrange' ... right click on desktop /
arrange icons .. then uncheck auto arrange .. then you
can put the icons anywhere you want.

It already is on. The problem is, I put the icons where I want them, but
Windows moves the ones close to the screen edges on me when I switch to
another user account and back ...

Have you tried "lock desktop items" under Active Desktop?

Personally, I un-check Auto Arrange icons (turn off).. I
organize for my own tastes
