deleting pictures on desktop

How do i remove pictures that appear from my pictures
folder,on the settings for choosing a desk top picture

The pictures are stored in C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper and C:\Documents and
Settings\YOU\My Documents\My Pictures
