Hi

I get a 'delayed write failed' error every time I try to save a file
from the internet to a server running XP Sp2. I get event ID 26 and
50, with the status word c0000020c. Microsoft has an article on this
but says it only applies to Windows 2003, and states further that
"this error does not apply to mapped drives.

The symptom text and event details match my symptoms exactly, and it
is the only article that matches on their support knowledge base.

Copying files from other machines to the XP server is fine.

From tiem to time, uploads from the server to a remote site over the
net results in the application stops responding, which also seems
consistent with the article's syptoms.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did how did you resolve it?

thanks
Tanya

Yes. We have the a similar problem with XP sp2 station occassionally. The
workstations run Microstation and they get the exact error when working on
files of our 2003 file server. I found that KB article also
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890352/). Unfortunately as you said it
applies to server. We have workstation doing it not servers.

Do you get any MUP disconnect errors?

I am also getting this error message when using NTBackup to backup the
systems in our office to my server, which happens to be XP SP2. It appears
the fix from KB 890352 would work, but obviously not in the OS I am in. It
would be nice if there was a timeout in the registry or something that could
be set to say how long to wait for this non-progress it speaks of. I have
plenty of machines that are working, but the backup files are between 6 and
12 MB. When they get up past 15, I seem to run into it more.

Unfortunatly, without a reply from Microsoft, I have to try to experiment
with mapping drives while not logged in and hope it fixes the problem.
