Date and Time Display of Messages Received and Messages Sent

The date and time displayed on messages that I receive is incorrect. Messages
that I send, on viewing my sent folder, display the correct time and date. If
a message I have sent is replied to (and returned to me) the date and time of
the incoming message is incorrect and if I scroll down to my original message
this is also incorrect (although the correct date and time is shown in the
sent folder). I know this sounds confusing - I am confused.
The date/regional settings etc in the Control Panel is correct. The timezone
recorded in Calendar options is correct. Why do the emails received in my
inbox then show an incorrect date and time?

The time being displayed depends on the time, timezone and DST settings on
the client of the sender, mail servers in between and client of the
receiver.
