Custom Toolbar I create disappears when closing Word

I have used Word to make custom toolbars which I have placed commands and
macros on. Now when I make a toolbar and put macros on it or make any
changes to the toolbars that I already created - they disappear as soon as
Word is closed. I am saving to the normal.dot file so why do any changes
that I make or toolbars that I create disappear? Please help - I'm very
frustrated. :)

In some organizations, the mis-guided system administrators delete the
normal.dot template (or replace it with a new one) when Word is started.
The way around this is to create your toolbars in a template that you save
into the Word Startup folder so that it is loaded as a global template
(add-in) when Word is started.
