Custom Colors will not save

    Hi,

This is a rather annoying problem I'm having with Windows XP (Home Edition).
When I define custom colors in the standard color palette, they do not save
after that instance of the program they were created in is closed. A
perfect example of what I am talking about can be seen if you launch the
    default Microsoft Paint
program included with any OS. After the program is launched, double-click
on any standard color, then click the 'Define Custom Colors' button and
select a color. Click the 'Add to Custom Colors' button and it will be
added to one of the 16 available custom color slots. Now, you can close the
color dialog or add more custom colors, and they will remain available UNTIL
you close the application. Upon re-launch, you will find all custom colors
    have reset back to white.

I have tested this on several different XP machines (Home and Professional)
and it does the same on each. Honestly, what good do 'custom colors' do if
you must re-configure them each time you launch a program! There is a key
in the registry: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Custom Colors" which
technically should be where the custom colors get saved. But they never do.
I'm going to assume this is a bug in Windows XP, but am wondering if anyone
knows of a solution to it? I wouldn't even mind entering the color codes in
the registry keys just as long as they stay there, but even that doesn't
    work.

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt
