Need to identify the problem first. Are you using a laptop or a cordless
mouse? Jumping cursors are commonly caused by a) accidentally brushing
across the touchpad, or b) electrical interference with the cordless mouse
(a radio or cell phone sitting on transmitter can do it).
My guess is that you're using a laptop: when you stretch your hand to reach
the shift key, the back of your thumb nudges the touch pad.

While I'm typing, the cursor jumps to a new spot in my text and I start
typing in the middle of a different paragraph. It seems to be related to the
shift key + different letters.
