Creating initial passwords for new users

Hi. I am using Access 2000 and setting up security and
user accounts for the first time. Have some familiarity
with creating groups and users, but am having a hard time
assigning initial passwords to new users. When I create a
new user the Access 2000 Developer Handbook says I should
be able to go to the Change Logon Password tab of the User
and Group Accounts dialogue box to assign a password to
that new user. However, the only user I see under that
tab is me (Admin), not the user I just created. If I go
back to the Users tab and pick the user I just created and
then go back to the Change Logon tab, once again, I still
see the Admin account. The only way to assign the
password to the new user is to logoff as Admin, logon as
the new user and set up the password while logged on as
that user. What am I doing wrong? This can't be the only
way to do it, can it? Help. Thanks, Mike.

You have to log on as a given user to change their password through the user
interface.
